Black flags greeted Asin on Sunday (Oct 3) in Mettupalayam, where she is shooting a song with Vijay for the Siddique directed Kavalan.
The activists of the Pro-Tamil organization Periyar Dravida Kazhagam (PDK) were demonstrating against Asin for her visit to Sri Lanka for the shoot of Salman Khan’s Ready Two of the PDK activists were arrested. Later the PDK said they had protested against Asin for her “anti-Tamil” stand by violating the ban imposed by Nadigar Sangam against actors visiting Sri Lanka.
PDK also said that “Asin enjoyed the company of anti-Tamil Sinhala politicians”, a reference to her travelling in an army chopper with the Sri Lankan first lady. Anyway the shoot continued with police protection.
